Luigi Giordano - Family producer who since the thirties of last century, deals with the cultivation of vines in Barbaresco.

Luigi together with his wife, Alessandra, and two daughters, Laura and Sylvia produces not only a great Barbaresco, but also Barberas and Dolcettos.

Seven hectares of vineyards are located in the surroundings of this charming town, in subzones: Asili, Cavana and Montestefano.

Honesty and hard work of members of the family make their wines are a perfect example of Piedmont winemaking traditionsThis makes the wines are exceptional, while preserving their freshness and simplicity.

Passion inherited from the founder of the vineyard, their grandfather, Giovanni, is expressed also in this, how they describe their wines:

    Dry white wine of native Piedmont grape Arneis. This is one of the best white wines of Piedmont, which comes from the left bank of the river Tanaro, Roero zone. Our supplier buys grapes in the town of Castagnito and then vinifies them in its own cellars. In the Piedmontese dialect Arneis is fractious and unruly character. Similarly, this wine tastes - is expressed, strong and distinctive.

    A dry red wine from the autochthonous Freisa variety of Piedmont.In the dialect freisa means freesia, or flower, characterized by purple - red color. Hence the wine was named after its colour. The mentions about this grape variety date back to the late XIX-th century, then the wine obtained from the Freisa grape was already well-known and apprieciated, especially in Piedmont. Freisa from our producer was aged in wooden barrels, next was subjected to the short fermentation process in a big tank called ‘autoclave‘ . Hence Freisa is characterized by a slightly sparkling flavor and freshness. This wine is an excellent companion to grassy meats and charcuterie. Freisa of the Langhe region is a dry wine as opposed to Freisa of the Monferrato zone.

    Dry red wine of native Piedmont grape Dolcetto d’Alba. The name of the grape comes from the Italian dolce, sweet, but sweetness is only a feature of grapes rather than of the wine which is made from them. Dolcetto is deeply rooted in the winemaking tradition of Piedmont and very loved by its residents. This goes well with most dishes, from hors d‘oeuvres to main courses. Dolcetto is a simple and pleasent wine to drink after the meal.

    Dry red wine made from the autochthonous Piedmontese Barbera d‘Alba grape. The Barbera is one of the oldest and most popular grape varieties of Piedmont. Depending on the zone in which it grows, has diffrent aromas and flavors. Barbera from Alba is different from the Barberas of Asti and Monferrato. It has a more intense scent and is less acidic. Barbera d‘Alba from our producer Luigi Giordano is an example of perfection of this traditional Piemontese wine. It comes in a vineyard called Buschet. For 4 months aged in Slovenian oak barrels and then matures for three months in the bottle.

    Dry red wine from Piedmont‘s native Barbera d’Alba grapes produced in the Alba zone. In relation to the ordinary Barbera, this version of wine, as the name suggests, was subjected to aging in small French oak barrels - barrique for almost a year. Therefore, its structure is stronger and definitely enhances the typical notes of toasted wood and spices such as cocoa. It is characterized by a strong ruby color, intense aroma and deep strong taste. This wine is full-bodied, velvety and harmonious.

    The Langhe area, located on the right side of theTanaro river, is home to the Nebbiolo grape.This great grape with its name reffering to the landscape of Langhe, characterized by the autumn mists, nebbia is the Italian for mist, in its basic version is called Langhe Nebbiolo. This wine is fresh and young, aged in wooden barrel just for a few months. A feature of this variety is longevity, so it can safely mature in the bottle for up to seven years.

    Barbaresco from the youngest vineyard of our producer called Asili, located in the town of Barbaresco on the south-eastern slopes. Like the other varieties of this wine Barbaresco Asili too is characterized by a beautiful color and wonderful fruity - spicy bouquet. Certainly, the youngest vineyard, planted in 2000 will in time produce great wines, because the year 2007 confirms the potential of this place. Barbaresco is an elegant wine on special occasions. Ideal for dishes based on meats. The wine has a deep burgundy color and glossy, besides the aroma notes mentioning cherries, red fruit jam, violet, rose, delicate spices.

    A dry red wine of Piedmont‘s autochthonous Nebbiolo grape. This is another version of Barbaresco from the same manufacturer, coming from a vineyard called Cavanna, located in the village of Barbaresco with exposure to the West. Like other versions of this noble wine, it is aged in large Slovenian oak barrels for 24 months and in the bottle for at least six months .

    Aroma: notes of cherries, preserves of red fruit, violet, rose; delicate notes of spices, resin.

    A dry red wine from Piedmont‘s native Nebbiolo grape. Next to Barolo, Barbaresco is the most famous wine of Piedmont, which is produced in three villages in the region - Barbaresco, Neive and Treiso. Our producer, Luigi Giordano, comes from Barbaresco. His vineyards are situated in the surrounding hills on the south and south-western slopes. Montestefano is the name of the oldest of the vineyards, which, thanks to iits deal exposition to the sun and location on the south, gives the perfect grapes. Their harvest done manually, the long fermentation process of wine and its ageing result in the creation of an outstanding Barbaresco. It ages in large Slovenian oak barrels for 24 months and for another 12 months in the bottle .
