informations about producer

Cantina Formigine Pedemontana – a wine cooperative founded in 1920 by 49 local winegrowers. The seat of the company is located in the town of Corlo Formigine, in the region of Emilia-Romagna, precisely in Emilia near to Modena. Today, the cooperative unites 420 members with 600 hectares of owned vineyards. 60% of bottlings is made of Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro awarded DOC status. The cooperative is an example of a successful blend of tradition with modernity. The owners of vineyards take always great care in providing the best grapes, and thanks to technical facilities, the company produces wines of high quality. The Lambrusco from the line Rosso Fosco recived the award of Gambero Rosso’s Italian wine guide for excellent price/quality ratio in the year 2010, while the wine from the line In Pricipio won the first prize in the Vinitaly international oenological competition in the year 2012. We can definitely confirm that the famous but often not appreciated (because badly interpreted) Lambruscos of our partner are outstanding wines, which are an expression of the region of their origin, charming by their simplicity and freshness.

A dry red wine from Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro, Emilia‘s native grape. Our partner from surroundings of Modena decided to invest in biological agriculture. After many efforts and hard work was created a new Lambrusco with a nice label projected by children and called Passion. Without this label there wouldn‘t granted a certificate for biological agriculture and the wine wouldn‘t be invented. The main merit of biological winemaking lies in a very small amount of sulphur dioxide in wines derived from the vineyards, where chemical and synthetic additives are not used.

Color: ruby red with violet reflections.

Aroma: vinous, intense, notes of ripe forest fruits.

    Flavor: full, pleasant, crisp.

Food matching: excellent with cured meats, meats especially greasy meats.

    Serving temperature: 10°C.

    Alcohol content: 10,5%.
